Copen — Installed a Short Antenna!

The stock antenna on the Copen always felt a bit… long.

It’s kind of too noticeable, isn’t it?

Of course, you can’t just remove it —
you’d lose radio reception entirely.

And taking it on and off every time you want to listen to the radio?
Way too much hassle.


So, I decided to try a short antenna — only 80mm long!

Once installed, it really cleaned up the look:

  • Much more streamlined
  • Less visually distracting
  • A better match for the car’s compact design

Radio reception?
Well...
Let’s be honest — yes, it’s a bit weaker.
But that’s to be expected from such a short antenna.


In my case, though, it’s not a big issue:

  • I rarely listen to the radio
  • When I do, it’s usually AM baseball broadcasts
  • I’m not picky about sound quality

Even FM still comes through with acceptable clarity for casual listening.


Considering the price and the visual improvement,
I’d say this is a great little upgrade
